AfricaFiles is a network of people committed to Africa through its promotion of human rights, economic justice, African perspectives and alternative analyses.
AfricaFiles was launched early in 2002 by former volunteers from two groups based in Toronto but supported by numerous others – in Canada, Africa and elsewhere. These groups were the Economic Rights in Southern Africa working group of the Inter-Church Coalition on Africa (ICCAF) and the Toronto Committee for the Liberation of Southern Africa (TCLSAC). After both of these groups ceased operation in 2001, volunteer members from each of them came together to express their solidarity with Africa and to explore ways to continue their work. The result is AfricaFiles.
